A Long, Hard, Winter
Many parts of Canada saw a long, cold, winter in 2017/2018. Wildlife also felt the hard edge of winter. Here the remains of a Bull Elk rest in Kananskis Country.

This is a blend of two images one 1.5 minute exposure for the sky with the skytracker active, and one 1.5 minute exposure for the foreground with the skytracker off.

A 36shot pano of the Milky Way over the Opal Range in Kananaskis Country. 3 shots were done for the sky using the skytracker mount, and 3 shots for the foreground. Assembled and blended in Photoshop.

Tested out the new skytracker camera mount at Kananaskis Lakes on Friday night. Amazing how many stars you pickup on a long exposure of the sky. This is a blend of two images one 1.5 minute exposure for the sky with the skytracker active, and one 1.5 minute exposure for the foreground with the skytracker off.
The Ice Magic Castle at Lake Louise in Banff National Park. I used two shots blended in PS to get this image. One for the background mountains and starry sky, and another for the brightly lit Ice Castle.

Morning light reflected of the glare ice of Upper Kananaskis Lake. We don't often get an oppotunity like this in the Rockies. Lack of snow through most of December left us with this lovely glare ice this year. Enjoyed by photographers, skaters, and kids throwing rocks!

I called this one happy trails since I liked this composition the best and few Geminids showed up in this location. When I got home and found two faint trails I was pleased! This is a composite of two frames taken a few minutes apart.
